Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced four new highway projects for Delhi and the surrounding areas, a total of an investment of Rs 12,500, before the announcement of the Delhi elections. focusing on air pollution and traffic congestion, which will help to decrease the load on cars coming from outside Delhi. Additionally, he announced that the national capital would receive Rs 1,200 crore from the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).
A day after seven Delhi BJP MPs made chese requests of him, Nitin Gadkari announced four new highway projects for Delhi. Of these, a tunnel from Shiv Murti to Nelson Mandela Marg had previously been sanctioned, and preparatory work had started.
