The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway is nearing completion, with final touches currently underway, as confirmed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Parliament. Once inaugurated, the 210 km high-speed expressway will reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun to just 2.5 hours, boosting connectivity, safety, tourism, and economic growth across Delhi-NCR, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway has become one of India’s most talked-about infrastructure projects, as it is likely to be inaugurated soon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Spanning approximately 210 kilometres, the expressway will directly connect Delhi to Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand.
Once operational, the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun will be reduced from nearly 6 hours to just 2.5 hours. This massive improvement will benefit millions of people across Delhi-NCR, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, making daily travel, business movement, and tourism significantly smoother.
The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway is being developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. It is a 6-lane high-speed expressway, with provisions to expand it to 8 lanes in the future. The primary objective of the project is to provide fast, safe, and traffic-free travel.
